I'm back with #3 in my series of techniques for the watercolor pencils. This technique still features watercolor paper but uses the Aqua Painter to deliver the color to the paper! Here's my card:
Pretty cute, huh? It's very hard to resist smiling at a llama! I used the Birthday Fiesta bundle which is in our Annual Catalog for this card. For the llama, I stamped on watercolor paper first. I then colored with the gray and Melon Mambo watercolor pencils and used an Aqua Painter to cover my coloring and create a watercolor effect. I then die cut out the birthday swag in watercolor paper and colored each section with different watercolor pencils, trying to match my little strip of Designer Series Paper at the bottom of the card. After coloring, I used the Aqua Painter to move the color around. The cacti are stamped directly on the card. I had not used the birthday swag before and one happy surprise is that there is a polka dot imprint on each section (little hard to see in this picture) but it gives some texture to it which was delightful!
I was attracted to this bundle because of the llama, but I also have some relatives in AZ so who knows, they may see something like this in their mailbox for real!
It's snowing alot here... perhaps I should experiment with snow as a water deliver system haha!
Have a great Wednesday!
Sarah.
