Independent Stampin'Up! Demonstrator!

Hey friends!
I've been a demonstrator with Stampin'Up! since 2011. I'm located in Bozeman, Montana, but have customers all over the country. I have a very fun and active downline called "Big Sky Stamper Stars" and we get together in person and online to share what we love. My blog posts feature what I'm up to recently and I try to share new product information, tips and tricks and creative inspiration. You can shop from this site or find out more information about our products and becoming a demonstrator! Thanks for stopping by!

Friend Like You Bundle

Hi Friends!
Today I have a fun set to show you, aptly named "Friend Like You"!  That's what I think of all of you as - friends!  I know if we were able to sit across a table from each other and stamp and chat, we would be friends soon if we aren't already. That's one of the things I love about stamping. I've met some really interesting people from all walks of life that share my love of this hobby. It doesn't matter what your background, your experience or your skill set! We can all stamp and share our creative inspiration.

This bundle has some really interesting dies that cut silhouette scenes. It's easier to show you than to try and explain it!

I felt at least one of these dies begged for a watercolor sunset!  I used a "baby wipe technique to put my ink on watercolor paper.  Here's a link to a Youtube video demonstrating how I did this:

For my next card, I chose the floral border. I had also just purchased the Scripty 3D embossing folder and wanted to try that out. If you look closely, you can see that in my background. I also experimented with a new In Color, Terracotta Tile!  I really like this with Mint Macaron.

The palm tree die was a bit of a surprise. Instead of cutting out the border piece, i.e. the trees, it cuts the negative!  You have to use this die in your background piece or figure out another way to do it. I added some texture with a retired embossing folder for my sand. I then stamped with the palm tree stamps included in this set.

My last card features some stamping of the pretty wild flowers in this set. You might notice another new embossing folder, the Brick and Mortar 3D folder.  This card also features a new In Color, Seaside spray and the coordinating ribbon and faceted dots that go with all the new In Colors.

This was a super fun set to play with. I want to try more stamping and more techniques with the dies as well. I think the negative images of the first two dies might be interesting. I'll have to experiment some more!

I've listed my supplies below in case you would like to make any of these cards. I'm also available by all the usual methods for questions or trouble shooting! Summer is the perfect time to be outside but if you can't be outside, you can craft about it!  That's almost the same thing haha!

Happy Stampin'! and Happy Monday!
Sarah
