Independent Stampin'Up! Demonstrator!

Hey friends!
I've been a demonstrator with Stampin'Up! since 2011. I'm located in Bozeman, Montana, but have customers all over the country. I have a very fun and active downline called "Big Sky Stamper Stars" and we get together in person and online to share what we love. My blog posts feature what I'm up to recently and I try to share new product information, tips and tricks and creative inspiration. You can shop from this site or find out more information about our products and becoming a demonstrator! Thanks for stopping by!

Butterflies Galore!

Hi Stampers!
It's good to be back to the routine of Monday after a fun weekend with extra daughter time.  We didn't really do much but it's still fun to just be together, catching up on life and sharing some laughs. Adult children are amazing, aren't they. They are still your kids but you learn to relate as friends as well. What a gift....

Today I want to focus on all the butterfly themed stuff that Stampin'Up! has released recently in the 2019 Occasions Catalog and Sale-A-Bration products. Even if you aren't the biggest butterfly fan in the world (not something I'm usually excited about),  you would have to be blind to not be attracted to some of these fun products and the inspiration that is out there on Stampin'Up!'s website and Pinterest to name a few. I decided I'd do some playing for myself and see what the fuss is all about.

There are two main bundles in the 2019 Catalogs that feature butterflies. The "Butterfly Gala" bundle captured a lot of attention at first and so much in fact, the punch has sold out for now. It will be available again this spring and is slated to be in the new Annual Catalog coming up in June so if you love it, you can still get it, just not yet!  It's a great stamp set and punch with coordinating paper, sequins and even some ribbon that was a Sale-A-Bration freebie (and also sold out).  Here are some ideas I had playing with this bundle:

I neglected to mention that the Sale-A-Bration free "Botanical Butterfly" Designer Series Paper is also a butterfly theme that is colorful and gorgeous. I used a piece of it for this card and then the stamps and punch for my butterflies. I used Stampin' Blends alcohol markers to color the butterflies before I punched them out. I adhered them to the card with glue dots on their spine so the wings appear to be unattached and "flying".

This is another example of some of the Designer Series Paper and butterflies stamped and punched from the "Butterfly Gala" bundle.  I hope you can see the background piece of Grapefruit Grove foil paper that I embossed with our Tin Tile Dynamic Impression embossing folder. Isn't that striking?!

One fun feature of the Designer Series Paper is that the reverse side is all black and white, allowing for lots of different themes as well as coloring. In this card, I simply colored one butterfly to stand out among the background. I got the deep rich colors by using my Stampin' Blends.

This is a great view of some more of the Designer Series Paper. Aren't the colors gorgeous? It's nice to see some of our new purple colors being used more as well. My butterfly die cut is a retired die but I thought it would look awesome on this card.

This gate fold card shows off more of the Designer Series Paper. I used the sentiment stamps from the "Beauty Abounds" set which I talk about next!

The second butterfly themed bundle in the 2019 Occasions Catalog is called "Beauty Abounds". This is a stamp and framelit bundle that features a staggering amount of butterflies to coordinate with some fun design element stamps and sentiment stamps.   I have barely scratched the surface with this set but thought I would show you some of what I've been doing!

Believe it or not, there are two full scale framelits used in this card example. One is the background Grapefruit Grove card stock and one is the foreground Grapefruit Grove foil paper. They are two different dies, designed to be used together or even apart. I used some all purpose Tombow glue to adhere the two, but you could just as easily use some adhesive paper on the top layer, peel off the backing and glue the top butterflies to the background butterflies.  While all of these butterflies are attached to each other, you could easily cut them apart and use them separately on different projects.

When I saw the large die, I was curious what it would look like just "embossed" on some paper so that is what I did, using the Big Shot embossing mats. I used the regular Big Shot platform, the white plastic embossing platform and the blue mat with a shim of card stock. I liked how this turned out on my background card stock and it makes the die more versatile if you can use it as an embossing medium as well.

I'm hosting a butterfly class tomorrow!  I still have 2 more seats available at the table. We will start at 1:30 and make several butterfly cards and maybe some other stuff!  Please let me know if you'd like to attend and I'll get the details to you!

While it's disappointing the dual butterfly punch is no longer available temporarily, there is still a lot of fun to be had with the rest of the butterfly-themed products. I hope you'll take a look at them and see if they are something that appeals to your crafting mojo!

I've listed my supplies below and you can order them directly from the online store. It's easy to load up your shopping card, pay at the checkout and have your goodies on their way to your front door! I'm always available for help or questions as well!

Hope you are off to a get start to your week and there's some stamping adventures in your future!
Happy Stampin',
Sarah
