Whenever holidays roll around, I always go back to previously retired, but well-loved stamps that I've kept for that very purpose... Holidays! Easter is a favorite of mine and has been forever. Let me count the ways:
1. The music of Easter especially in church. Some of my favorite hymns and songs are Easter ones. They uplift me, inspire me and move me. "Christ the Lord is Ris'n Today, Hallelujah"
2. The message of Easter. Christ is risen and so will I and those who have gone before me, some day.
3. The dresses! I loved making matching Easter dresses for my two daughters back in the day. They shut that down somewhere in middle school but I still have fond memories of planning out what to make "this year".
4. The hats! Refer to #3.... hats are required at Easter when you have daughters.
5. The food of Easter. Everything from a family recipe of Curried Eggs to the jelly beans and Robin's eggs malted milk balls. SOOOOOO good!
6. The Easter egg hunts, quite often held indoors because we still had a foot of snow in the yard!
7. More recently, our quirky family tradition of going to the outdoor gun range after all the above is over and target shooting pistols with Peeps as the target. They aren't good enough to eat, so we shoot 'em!
Easter is still a couple of weeks away, but I've been using some older sets and current ones to make some cards that I want to share. I won't bother sharing my supply list as it gets too long with many items being retired, but you'll get the drift and hopefully be inspired to make some Easter cards for yourself!
With love and nostalgia for Easter,
Sarah
