You'll have to excuse me if I'm a little distracted today... my son just got engaged to a wonderful woman who we are very excited about. She even recently signed up as a SU demo under me so to say we have a lot in common would be an understatement! I will try to focus on other things however, at least when I'm posting in my blog!
Did you notice the adorable Noah's Ark stamp set in the 2019 Occasions Catalog? Of course, it is perfect for a baby card but there are some other ways you could use this set with some additional sentiments. I recently played with it and the first thing I wanted to do was color it.
I used Momento black ink for my stamping and then colored with the Stampin' Blends alcohol markers. It was really fun and pretty easy to do. A quite note about the zebras...I just colored in the black stripes and left the rest. They seem even "whiter" with all the coloring around them.
I also wanted to just do some stamping with this set and see what happened.
I used Mint Macaron and Night of Navy for my color scheme and grabbed some retired SAB paper for my cloud background. I thought this was really pretty and a little quicker to make without the coloring details.
Next, I wanted to pair it with the "Animal Outing" bundle which is in our Annual Catalog and includes some awesome animals.
I used the Wood Textures DSP to make a frame and stamped the ark and animals behind it on Very Vanilla paper. I then used the framelits and DSP from the Animal Outing set to cut the leaves and Kangaroo/koala bear. I thought these went together really well!
Here's what is under the first flap that you lift up (the ark part)
And here's what's inside the main card body!
This isn't a tricky fun fold, but it did allow me to feature lots of DSP and lots of stamps, which was fun!
I hope you'll check out the "Perfectly Paired" set and see if you need that in your stash. As I said, it is well suited for baby cards but I liked seeing what else I could use it for!
Ok, that's it for today! Hope you have a wonderfully creative day and keep stampin'!!
Sarah
