Independent Stampin'Up! Demonstrator!

Hey friends!
I've been a demonstrator with Stampin'Up! since 2011. I'm located in Bozeman, Montana, but have customers all over the country. I have a very fun and active downline called "Big Sky Stamper Stars" and we get together in person and online to share what we love. My blog posts feature what I'm up to recently and I try to share new product information, tips and tricks and creative inspiration. You can shop from this site or find out more information about our products and becoming a demonstrator! Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Tails - Woof! (Raining Cats and Dogs Part 1)

UPDATE!  I've done some more dog cards for my upcoming class and I really like these - even better than the first cards I did!  Take a peek!

Hi Stampin' Friends,
How are you this fine Sunday morning?  I started this post before church and now it's after church. That's how some days go. Despite that,  I'm overflowing with ideas to show you, inspired by the new 2019 Occasions Catalog. I've had some great responses from customers so far and one bundle they are particularly excited about is called "Happy Tails". There are a lot of dog lovers in the world and I live in a very big dog town. There are still more people than dogs but it's got to be close!

If you have the Occasions Catalog handy, check out page 33. This new bundle is featured as well as some great sample ideas for using it. There are endless combinations of types of dogs you can make as well.  I especially like that it includes a sentiment appropriate for sympathy cards in the loss of a pet. We all know how big of deal that is, right?  I had some fun with this bundle and here's what I did.

I thought a special dog deserved a really nice dog house so I made one by using my Stampin' Trimmer for the roof edges out of Crumb Cake. I then added a roof with Soft Suede. After my dog house was cut, I embossed it with the corrugated embossing folder and then popped it up on dimensionals and but another piece of Crumb Cake card stock behind it to create some dimension. He looks happy to be home, doesn't he?

This second card was made for someone you love, but could easily be turned into a Valentine idea. I used the heart framelits from the "Nothing Sweeter" bundle which just retired out of the Holiday Catalog. I loved those stitched hearts! The dog is actually a two stamp process, with the outline stamped first and then the spots. This is a perfect use of the Stamparatus to get your spots just right!

This card was a take-n-make at my recent open house and features a fun new embossing folder called "Dot to Dot". Since my dot had "dots", I figured it was awesome to have the background feature dots. I slipped in a piece of black glimmer paper that I had in my stash. Don't overlook the Halloween products when they come around each year and see what can be used year round, like black glimmer or black foil paper!

For this card I wanted to play with more of the stamps in the set. They are made of photopolymer, so it's easy to see what your stamping and do any double stamping like the spots on this dog or the framing for the doghouse. There's no hard and fast rule about what to stamp first, I usually just pick whatever stamp will help me line up all the others better.  Generally, I choose an outline stamp first and then fill in with color or additional details. If you still have your shredding scissors that SU carried for a few years, grab those as your best tool for creating grass!

If you need somewhere to start with earning some Free Sale-A-Bration goodies, consider purchasing the "Happy Tails" bundle at $31.50, the "Nine Lives" stamp at $16 and the cat punch at $18. You will over the $50 threshold and get to pick out something for free from the SAB brochure.

To kick off my classes for 2019, I chose to offer one called "Raining Cats and Dogs". It will feature 2 dog cards and 2 cat cards with the coordinating stamps and punches. If you want to know more about it or to RSVP, click on my SU website to the right ---->> and scroll down to the calendar section of the page. You'll see it listed for Thursday, Jan 10th, at 1:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. If you want to attend, you can also email or text me and I'll save you a spot.  Dare I say we'll have a "howling" good time!

Thanks for dropping by! I love this creative outlet and it's super fun to share it with you. Perhaps the cats will make an appearance tomorrow! Oh, and here's a pic of the best dog!

Happy Stampin',
Sarah
