There's something about a Wednesday that always makes me feel like I will be able to make it to the end of the week because I'm half way there. This isn't necessarily a bad week but living in the middle of a remodel is interesting isn't it! Everyday I have adventures trying to find things that I accidentally packed up and all the upheaval is a challenge. However, I can always go down to my stamp room and ESCAPE!
When I was in Orlando at OnStage, there was a wealth of great, easy ideas that I hope to remember and incorporate into my stamping and my business. One of the brilliant ideas was the concept of "simple stamping". Sometimes, we forget where we started and make things too complicated for customers. I'm guilty of that and have been subscribing to the "when in doubt, put on MORE embellishments". While that makes a wowie-zowie card, it can also be intimidating to those who haven't tried stamping or discouraging to those who like to stamp but don't have a lot of supplies or experience.
One of my new goals coming out of OnStage is to feature simple stamping often as a way to showcase the basics and make stamping accessible for anyone. To start with today, I grabbed a set of note cards that come out of the annual catalog and one stamp set. Did you hear that? ONE stamp set! I challenged myself to make some pretty cards with just ink and stamps, no embellishments, no punches or Big Shot required. It was harder than you think but I love what I came up with! Here they are:
Isn't that something? I know I'm guilty of forgetting that not every card needs to be "over the top". I stuck with my plan of using the preprinted note cards, one stamp set and then used some different ink colors, depending on what I thought would stamp best. I also tried to use several stamps, just to have fun with them.
This was a lot of fun and you can expect to see more #simplestamping in the future! I also hope that if you haven't stamped before and are curious about it, this will give you some courage to try it! It's a super fun hobby, relaxing "me" time and inexpensive therapy when real life is a little too "real". Be sure and contact me and I'll get you started!
Thanks for stopping by! I love to hear that you've seen my blog so leave a comment if you please!
Until next time, I'll be simple stamping!
Sarah
