Piece of Cake

Hi Stampers!
It's always fun to start another blog post and decide what to do it on. Every now and then I struggle with trying to come up with something new and fresh, but not this time of year!  There are so many new ideas in the 2019 Occasions Catalog that's it's overflowing with creativity!

Did you know the top reason most people send a card is for birthdays? That's why Stampin'Up! works so hard to give us lots of birthday options with their products. It's a great way to show someone that you were glad they were born and you are glad they are part of your life.  One of the new birthday themed bundles is the wonderful "Piece of Cake" stamp and punch set. There are tons of images and with a coordinating punch, it's easy to get creative.  Want to see some ideas?

For this first card, I decided to use some of the cute sentiments included in the stamp set, a bright color palette and make my own background paper.  This was easy to do and the result was bright and cheery. Because there are so many colors, this works great for either a man or woman or a kid!

For my second card, I tried out the punch.  It's easy to stamp the cake and cake plate on a separate piece of card stock, punch out and then feature on your card with dimensionals.  I used our Brusho pain crystals for my background color wash, on watercolor paper.  The word "Happy" is from a recent Christmas stamp set that carried over into the new year, "Merry Christmas to All".  I wanted this to look a little edgy so after inking up the stamp, I stamped it a couple times, moving it just above the original stamp. I added some cute adhesive sequins and voila!

I decided to try a wedding card as well. There is a "Mr. & Mrs." stamp that worked great for my background. I kept it pretty subtle with Sahara Sand ink.  I added some paper accent with the "All My Love" Designer Series paper, also out of the 2019 Occasions Catalog. Finally, I decided this card needed some bling and added a row of rhinestones to the cake platter.  I think you could also use this card for an anniversary card!

For my final card, I dug out my "Broadway Bound" Designer Series Paper because I remembered the gold foil numbers design and thought that would be a perfect birthday card background. I think the sentiment especially coordinates well with my background.  Sometimes when I want to show a lot of my background, I resort to a tag- style element that gets the message across but doesn't take up too much space. You can make you own tags with our Tag Topper punches! I even snuck in some Washi tape which is easy to do on the top and bottom of a tag.

I have to admit I love stamp and punch bundles. They are affordable, versatile to use and easy to store.  They also work great in a class setting as the stamps and punches can be easily passed from one person to another.   Here's a look at the set so you can see what you will get if you decide to buy this great combo:

I think you'll agree that's a lot of stamping possibilities!  I've listed my supplies below and would love to have you get one of these bundles for yourself and see what you can do with it!  The cost of the bundle is $31.50 and that gets you more than halfway to that $50 threshold and earning a Sale-A-Bration freebie! Birthdays never go away and birthday cards are always a sweet part to anyone's celebration.

Thanks for stopping by!  Please contact me if you have any questions or want to chat more about Stampin' Up! and their products. It's always a highlight of my day to share what I love with you!

Happy Stampin',
Sarah
