Hi Stampers!
And just like that, a whole week has gone by! I haven't forgotten about my blog, I was struggling with what would be interesting to write about. I still haven't answered that question, but figured I'd give it a go!
This time of year is hard for me in my Stampin'Up! world. It's a transition time between what's going away and all the exciting new things that are coming, but aren't here yet! As a demonstrator, we get to see the catalog early and in May, we get to preorder some products so we can start showing them to you. That's all very exciting but I've also been busy taking a look at what is retiring and going away. There is some Designer Series Paper I will really miss so I thought I would share some of that today so you can give some thought to whether you need to grab one more pack before it's all gone.
I love our Designer Series Paper. It's quality paper with two-sided designs that spark lots of creativity. At a minimum, the DSP helps you choose a pleasing color scheme which can be tricky in some cases. We have multiple shades of all the main colors so which is the right blue, which is the right green? Stampin'Up! helps you by listing the colors they used in their DSP on the back cardstock piece of packing paper. That takes some of the guess work out of color selection but it's still an art to figure out what colors look great together and enhance each other versus what colors should stay in their own yard and not cross the fence haha.
So what are my favorites from the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog?
#1 . Has to be Tranquil Textures!
Without question, I used this DSP on more projects than any other in years. I loved all the subtle background papers that I could use as is or even stamp on. I also used the bolder geometric ones as a focal point. I love these colors and have stocked up so I don't have to say goodbye right away!
#2 . Nature's Poem. This set has been invaluable for any "leafy" themed project. I love the rich autumn color palette with that deep Blackberry Bliss thrown in for contrast and richness.
I have used the more solid papers as backgrounds to stamp on repeatedly and the leaf designs are my favorites! This set wasn't just used for autumn either. I used it all year!
#3. Twinkle Twinkle DSP is my go to for softer, pastel shades. It was designed with baby themes in mind but I have used it for everything!
I really like that this set featured three new colors, Gray Granite, Soft Seafoam and Petal Pink. That allowed me to get used to those colors and see what they go with.
#4. And for two years running now, Wood Textures! This is the ultimate "go to" paper pack for almost any theme or idea. I love the variation of darker wood colors to faux painted white, distressed papers. It's a Must Have and I would order at least one more pack to get you through!
#5. If you like colorful and floral, it's impossible to beat "Garden Impressions" for both! I used this all year for cards, Easter baskets, bits of color here and there. They are vibrant, loud and gorgeous!
This is also another good pack to have on hand because it pulls in a lot of the 2018-2020 In Colors like Blueberry Bushel, Call Me Clover and Lovely Lipstick.
Well, as you probably guessed, I'm so excited to share what's coming up in the new Annual Catalog! I've already gotten some of the new DSP and in the next few weeks, I'll be sharing glimpses of it as I share sneak peeks of some projects I'm working on with new product. Stay tuned and in the meantime, get your retiring Designer Series Paper while you still can! Click on this link for a full inventory of Designer Series Paper:

Hey friends!
I've been a demonstrator with Stampin'Up! since 2011. I'm located in Bozeman, Montana, but have customers all over the country. I have a very fun and active downline called "Big Sky Stamper Stars" and we get together in person and online to share what we love. My blog posts feature what I'm up to recently and I try to share new product information, tips and tricks and creative inspiration. You can shop from this site or find out more information about our products and becoming a demonstrator! Thanks for stopping by!
