All Adorned - new SAB stamp!

Hi there Stampin' Friends!
We are on the other side of what will hopefully be our coldest day of the year and on to better days in 2019. I spent the first part of my day yesterday driving people (husband and daughter) to work because their vehicles wouldn't start in the -34 temps. That's actual temp... who knows what the wind chill was!  After that, I hunkered down in the house until I had to go pick them up and spent a fun day stamping.  As long as you have a cozy house, it's never too  cold to stamp!

Since it's March and we are in our last month of Sale-A-Bration, I wanted to focus some attention on some of the free stamps that you can still get for free with a $50 purchase. Some of you have taken advantage of this promotion several times already but some of you are still waiting. Don't wait toooo long!  After March 31st, these freebies are gone, gone, gone!

Today I'm sharing a new freebie that came out on February 15th. I wasn't sure if it would be a favorite, but I had a really good time playing with it. It was fun to see what I could do with the images and ended up stamping them together to form patterns. Let me show you what I mean.

First, I want you to know that my color in this photo doesn't quite depict the accurate colors. It is white with Blueberry Bushel.  I took a piece of Blueberry Bushel card stock and placed it in my Stamparatus. I then used the corner piece of this stamp set and stamped it in all four corners, carefully repositioning it on the Stamparatus. I used our White Craft ink which stays wet long enough that after I stamped all four corners, I heat embossed them with white embossing powder. This really accentuates the white ink well. I then used a Pearlized doily and some more stamping and punching for my center.  I wanted a really densely embossed background so grabbed a favorite retired embossing folder for that job. My stamped  piece is actually on top of the embossed background, two separate pieces of card stock.  Using the Stamparatus was critical to placement of the corner stamp as well as restamping if my White Craft ink needed it.

For this card, my inspiration was colorful tiles that I remember seeing in the Tucson area, back when my parents had a winter home there. A long time ago, we would actually cross the border into Mexico and shop and have lunch in Nogales. The pottery and ceramics were so colorful and I remember a lot of blues, greens, yellows, oranges and reds.  For this one, I again used the Stamparatus and stamped from left to right with Shaded Spruce, Mango Melody, Pumpkin Pie and Poppy Parade.  I did not have to move the stamp on the row as I was able to use the "hinges" on the Stamparatus and just move the stamp that way. I did have to reposition my stamp to start the 2nd row.  This isn't perfect in alignment, but it's pretty close and it was fun to try.

For my last card, I used another stamp from the set and just hand stamped (without the Stamparatus) in a row, inking once and stamping 3 times. The last stamp is fairly faint but you can still see it if you look closely. This is also a great example of what our Rectangle Framelits can do!  I used three of them for this card, including the base layer.  One of my favorite techniques is stamping directly on Designer Series Paper and I used Tranquil Textures DSP for this card.

"All Adorned" is a set that is relatively new in the Sale-A-Bration lineup so don't overlook it!  Here's a full look at the entire set!

I used almost all the stamps in my samples. These are great background images that can create color interest and even some texture.

Thanks for stopping by!  Today I am hosting an open house from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. featuring Stampin'Up!'s vast array of punches!  I will have 8 card stations that people can rotate among and they will be using over 20 punches by the time they are done!  Come by my house if that sounds like fun!  The water will be on the stove for tea and there will be treats as well!

Stay warm, stay calm and keep Stampin'!
Sarah
