Birthday Cheer

Howdy Stampers!
I am continuing to have so much fun working my way through the new products in the 2019 Occasions Catalog and Sale-A-Bration brochure. We also have some new Sale-A-Bration products and coordinating items coming up soon!  There's never a shortage of new products to inspire you!

Today I want to share some "Birthday Cheer". For all the cards I make, birthdays are still the number one reason for sending a card. There are several new birthday-themed sets in the new products and today I have a really fun and cheery one called "Birthday Cheer". The framelits in this bundle are especially fun as they are designed to be the edge of a card. There are multiple ways to use them but I stuck with fairly traditional uses and switched up what I did in the background. Let me show you wat I mean.

For this first card, I cut the presents die out of Basic Black cardstock. I then put a piece of the "How Sweet It Is" Designer Series paper behind it. The colors are in stark contrast to the black and make the presents show up really well. For the top edge of the card, I grabbed a piece of Lovely Lipstick foil paper and embossed it with the new Lace Dynamic Texture embossing folder.  I was careful to put the foil paper exactly where I wanted it in the Lace folder. I stamped a sentiment and punched it out with our always handy Starburst punch!

The framelit set also includes a cut out for the stamped cupcake image so I gave that I try with this card.  If you didn't have the framelits, this would be relatively easy to cut out by hand. I used my Stampin' Blends alcohol markers for some bright, cheery cupcakes and a birthday hat. I hope you notice the background I stamped, some confetti in Pineapple Punch color. I also added some Wink of Stella shimmer to the cupcake frosting and the party hat for just a little shine!

This card features the other edgelit die which is cupcakes. This time, I used white card stock to cut out the die and then used the cupcake die to cut out my cupcake backgrounds. The cupcake image doesn't go all the way to the top of the cupcake, but it still works really well!  I stuck with my bright color scheme from the "How Sweet It Is" DSP but actually, these dies would work well with any colors. There are additional sentiments so you can use this bundle for more than just birthdays.  They will work for any celebration involving presents or cupcakes!

I suppose it is possible to already have too many birthday-themed stamps in your stash, but this one was really fun to play with. I'll be coming back to it soon to make some more projects fit for a celebration!

You can see this set, some samples Stampin'Up! has made with it and more in the Occasions Catalog. There is a link to the right ===>>> which takes you to a PDF version of the catalog. You can also see all the products in the online store. Click on "shop now" and you'll be there.   For today's projects, look below and you'll see my supply list. A click on any item will take you to the store as well!

Thanks for stopping by! It's always fun for me to start my day out by talking to you... the people behind my computer screen who love stamping as much as I do. Too bad we can't all get together and inspire each other.  Please leave a comment if you have a question or idea for future blog posts. What would you like to see more of?

Until next time, Happy Stampin'!
Sarah
