Independent Stampin'Up! Demonstrator!

Hey friends!
I've been a demonstrator with Stampin'Up! since 2011. I'm located in Bozeman, Montana, but have customers all over the country. I have a very fun and active downline called "Big Sky Stamper Stars" and we get together in person and online to share what we love. My blog posts feature what I'm up to recently and I try to share new product information, tips and tricks and creative inspiration. You can shop from this site or find out more information about our products and becoming a demonstrator! Thanks for stopping by!

How about some Dinosaur Love!!

Happy Tuesday  Stampers!

Hope your week is roaring along (pun intended as you soon shall see)!  In the midst of all the Sale-A-Bration excitement and even having the new Occasions catalog in our hands, I don't want to completely forget about the fabulous annual catalog. It is still current until June 1st and I have lots more to explore and share!  There is one set that has been around for about three years now that I haven't given nearly enough attention to - "No Bones About It" - a fabulous dinosaur set complete with dinosaurs, their bones and foliage and tracks. It's really fun to work with and I decided to spend an afternoon playing around. What inspired me this time is the Designer Series Paper set "Pick a Pattern" and its sheet of dinosaurs. You'll see it featured in the 2nd card!  Here are my ideas:

For my first card, I combined a eye popping color combination, Night of Navy, Perfect Plum and Lemon Lime Twist!

My second card is a more bright color palette with Emerald Envy, Crushed Curry and Flirty Flamingo. I had fun making my own background paper with the "bones" stamps and foliage.

For my last card, I grabbed some DSP and embellishments from last spring. It's okay to combined retired stuff with current stuff, I promise!  After 6 years with Stampin'Up!, I'm finding I rarely use all my ribbon and embellishments and DSP before it actually retires so one of my goals this year was to be generous with it and quit hoarding!!!

If I were to do this card again, I would use black ink for the skeleton part. I used Pacific Point under Emerald Envy and it wasn't dark enough to really show through. I think the bones are the fun part as they combine what we see in museums and then we can stamp the flesh to imagine what they must have looked like in person. Fun to dream about... ask any kid!

I hope you enjoyed my detour back to the Annual Catalog!  I haven't forgotten about it and you shouldn't either!  My supplies are listed below so you can click on any item and it will take you right to the online store for shopping. Check out the Sale-A-Bration, Occasions and Clearance Rack sections while you're there. You never know what you have to have until you see it!

Have a grrrreat day!
Sarah
