Now that all the 4th of July shenanigans are past, I'm back to my stamp room and trying to create some fun and joy. I want to draw your attention to a fun suite called Birthday Memories. It's complete with stamps, framelits, amazing Designer Series Paper, embellishments and more. I've made several cards featuring these products and will blog about them the rest of the week. Here's the first:
The suite has an old-fashioned feel to it, like 1950-60's. I'm pretty sure I had a dress like the one the little girl is wearing and I know I wore anklets and shoes like that! It's so appealing to go back there because it's nostalgic, feels simpler and somewhat not quite so tainted, in my opinion. I'm not really commenting on our culture as it is today, but kind of ;)
I stamped my images with gray archival ink and then used the watercolor pencils for coloring. You could also add some blender pen work to spread the color around a little better. I hope you notice the background! It's a lovely new dynamic texture embossing folder creating ruffles or waves. I was careful in how I place the paper in the embossing folder so I could stamp on it as well. I like this card a lot for its simplicity, color scheme and sweetness.
Here's a great look at the whole suite! Come back the rest of this week for more of my projects!
I can't wait to play with the poodle. Growing up, our family dog was a silver small standard poodle called "Gus". He was the best!
Don't forget about the Bonus Days offer! For every $50 you spend in July, you will receive a coupon/code good for $5 to spend in August!. See yesterday's post for all the details! Use Hostess Code 3M2GHZW3 for online shopping!
Happy Stampin'!
Sarah
