Dragonfly Watercolor Technique #6

Here's the final card we made in my Watercolor pencil techniques class today!  I thought this up as I was contemplating the whole overarching topic of water added to color on paper. It seems pretty obvious when you put it like that. Color watercolor paper with watercolor pencils, then spritz with water and see what happens!  Here's the card:

This technique will give a unique effect every time because of the placement and amount of coloring (density) and the amount of water spritzed on and how long it's allowed to stay there... all the way until it dries or dabbed off with a paper towel.  I chose 4 complimenting color pencils and colored the entire surface of my water color paper. I then spritzed it with water, as lightly as possible and watched it bleed a little, then dabbed with a paper towel. I wanted to not let the colors run into each other too much. When this paper was dry, I stamped the dragonflies and sentiments on...It's really a pretty card and makes you feel like you actually made your own paper!
