Here's one of the very first cards I made and the first one I ever put online anywhere. I was so proud of it! I punched out some flowers, glued on some buttons, stamped Happy Birthday and BOOM... a card! It really can be that simple. My style has evolved considerably and also my knowledge of techniques, tools, design, etc. My inventory of supplies has exploded (i.e. a room full) since that time (Fall of 2011). It's fun to look back at prior work and see what is different, what you like, what you would change. Guess that's true of life, right?
