Marquee Messages!

Every now and then, you want to make sure someone gets your message loud and clear!  A marquee sign would be nice to have, wouldn't it!  Here's a great stamp idea:

There are alot of ways to use this stamp set, and this was a fairly obvious one, but I really liked all the bling representing the light bulbs!  It took a little extra time and patience to get the bling in the right place, but was well worth it. Another option would be SU's glitter glue, "Dazzling Details"!

I'm working my way through my favorites in the catalog and ordering when I can and playing as much as possible!  Summer's a great time to indulge in such a fun hobby! What are you doing?

Host a party!

June is a great time to host a Stampin'Up! party as all parties greater that reach the $350 mark earn extra hostess dollars of $35!  A good friend of my daughter's hosted a party Sunday afternoon and it was a fun way to have a ladies afternoon out with great food, socializing and card making. The hostess requested we make a wedding card and baby card and that's what we did!  You don't need a fancy place to host and it doesn't even have to be all that big. We can make it work.

I purposely tailor a party to your needs... how many are coming, what they want to make, how experienced they are, etc. That way, there is no stress and only fun :)  Several gals liked  it enough to order a card  kit to try on their own at home!  We have two awesome card kits that are reasonably priced and include EVERYTHING you need to make 20 cards.

Here's the Oh Happy Day kit  (#142275)

And the Watercolor Wishes kit  (#140406)

Did I mention I take these kits camping!  Husband goes fishing, I make cards!

Contact me today if you would like to have a party for you and your friends!

A "Deer" Father's Day Card !

Father's Day is coming up quickly (this Sunday) and I'm so grateful I get to see mine most days. We don't do much besides chat and share a meal, but I really enjoy my  time with him. Lately we have bee reminiscing more about his life and all he has done, so interesting!  Father's Day is not the only day to show appreciation to the dads in your life, but it is a great excuse to make a masculine card!

Here's mine:

I kept this card simple and focused on my stamping. I stamped the mountains, trees, grass and deer , then tore the edges of the paper, daubed it with a medium brown ink and a dauber to give it a burnt effect, and then lightly stamped over the entire thing with an old linen pattern background stamp I had to create a canvas effect. It's a little hard to see in the picture, but it turned out great!  Another trick to share with you comes from the inside. I stamped up the bottom half of the flower/grass stamp with green and the top half with purple. Easy-peasey and I had more realistic flowers than if the whole thing were green or purple.

With all the fancy tools and gadgets in the papercrafting industry, it's fun to just focus on stamping alone once in awhile! Contact me if you'd like more info about this card or any other of our great Stampin'Up! products!

Have a great day!

Success looks good on you!

I know most of the graduations in my area have already taken place, but I still wanted to show you a fun graduation card made recently with a class.   It could be adapted for any school colors, but I chose black and red, mainly to feature "red carpet" on my card. Here it is:

I had fun using some familiar products and one new one with this card. I started with the star embossing folder, but inked it with silver Encore ink before I embossed to give the gray paper a little shimmer. I also embossed my "red carpet" and used some silver glimmer paper for more bling.  The new product is from the Painter's Palette stamp set (pg 119 Annual Catalog). We hand cut out the easel and then used some silver foil paper to mimic a mirror.  The sentiment on the inside is perfect! That is from the Suite Sayings stamp set (pg 104 AC ).  The rest of the materials were odds and ends from my supply drawers.

Have you had a chance to see the new catalog? You can look at it online (click on the link to the right) or I'm happy to send a paper one to customers who place orders with me. Thanks so much for stopping by today!
